Paul&Shark x White Mountaineering: Capsule Collection

This winter has been harsh so far. The freezing cold temperatures and the routine downpours that seem almost daily. For any discerning gent attempting to get his daily dose of permitted exercise during lockdown, or simply to pop out to the shops to get some supplies, one needs to wrap up with protection against the elements in mind. Timely then, that Italian label Paul&Shark unveiled its upcoming capsule collection in collaboration with White Mountaineering for Autumn/Winter 2021.

The new collection features high-performing functional outerwear capturing the ethos behind both brands. Made up of outdoor staples, the designs are inspired by the sky, stars and wilderness. Within the all-black, slim-fitting capsule are t-shirts, sweaters, pants and jackets durable for all terrains.

All items within the collection feature Paul&Shark’s sustainably constructed Typhoon 20000, an innovation launched by the brand in 2020. It’s designed to ensure high-waterproof and windproof performance. The result of the science is an ultra-thin membrane which is designed to withstand a 20-metre water column whilst allowing maximum breathability. The collaboration with White Mountaineering means the reworking of traditional outerwear silhouettes with an array of detachable layers composed of technical fabrics such as primaloft and wool.

The merging of the distinct nautical heritage behind Paul&Shark with the clean aesthetic look of White Mountaineering means the capsule collection represents a strong yet discreet look to the garments whilst remaining loyal to each brands’ niche design tone.
