Jonathan Bailey x Giorgio Armani: First Men’s Fragrance in More Than 20 Years

Jonathan Bailey is adding another major fashion and beauty partnership to an already impressive 2026, becoming the face of Giorgio Armani’s new men’s fragrance, I Will.

Launched on 10 August, the fragrance represents a significant moment for Armani Beauty, it is the house’s first new masculine fragrance in more than two decades. Bailey’s appointment also gives the launch an intriguing connection between Hollywood, fashion and modern ideas of masculinity.

For an actor whose profile has grown rapidly through Bridgerton, Wicked and Jurassic World: Rebirth, Bailey is a natural fit for a campaign built around confidence, individuality and determination. He was also named People’s Sexiest Man Alive last year, adding another layer of cultural relevance to the partnership.

A fragrance years in the making

I Will is not simply another addition to an established fragrance line. According to reporting around the launch, the scent took more than four years to develop, with perfumers Nathalie Lorson and Alberto Morillas reportedly creating around 2,800 versions before arriving at the final composition. That’s a lot of trial and testing on the way to perfection.

The fragrance combines Italian bergamot and lavender with smoky vanilla and leather, creating a profile that balances freshness with warmer, more sensual notes. The result is intended to reflect a contemporary interpretation of masculinity rather than relying solely on the traditional fresh-and-woody formula.

That sense of contrast also carries through to the bottle, which features a gradient from matte black into transparent glass and is designed to be refillable.

More than a celebrity campaign

Bailey’s relationship with Armani predates I Will. He has worked with the fashion house for several years and met Giorgio Armani himself in 2022. The actor has described the project as particularly meaningful, with the late designer having been involved in the conception of the fragrance and its narrative before his death in 2025.

For Armani, the launch is therefore about more than introducing another bottle to an increasingly crowded fragrance market. It represents a statement about where the house sees modern men’s fragrance, and modern masculinity, heading next.

And with Jonathan Bailey front and centre, I Will is certainly arriving with plenty of attention already attached to it.
