The Air Max line has developed into quite the empire since the first trainer was launched way back in 1987 with the Air Max 1 and the now legendary air bubble sole. As with any empire, refreshing and growing the numbers is key and ahead of Air Max Day, taking place on 26th March, Nike is launching a new Air Max silhouette in 2024 – the new Air Max Dn.
There has been a lot of talk about what the new addition to the Air Max line up might be, but now Nike has officially confirmed that Air Max Dn will be launched to the world. The new trainers will have the famed eye-catching air sole coupled with the brand’s latest development in footwear cushioning, titled Dynamic Air.
The four-tube air unit, will deliver a smooth stride with maximum bounce. The technology allows for a dual-chamber design, with two tubes per chamber, letting the air provide enough resistance within the chamber to react with each step.
“The feeling of heel-to-toe movement is seamless, because the air unit is interacting in real time with your foot and moves with you. The Air Max Dn was the first time we were able to unlock that feeling,” shared Reggie Hunter, product director for Nike Lifestyle Footwear.
Aside from the innovative Air unit, the sole also utilizes injected Phylon foam, a TPU shank arch clip and a TPU heel counter to fuse comfort with durability. Its debut colourways include the “All Day” and “All Night” looks, both of which feature similar finishes; with the former sporting a red to purple gradient at the upper while the latter favours all-black at its base.
Ahead of release for Air Max Day the Nike Air Max Dn will launch with the ‘All Day’ colourway via Nike’s website and select retailers, while the “All Night” pair is set to arrive alongside additional colorways via Nike’s website and select Nike stores in both adult and youth sizing.
