It’s that time of the year when things get real cold. Really cold. For some the cold weather is an opportunity – an opportunity to get outside, explore take in nature. For others it is the right moment to release a new clothing collection for said explorers. Given those two factors, now seems the perfect time for outdoor wear specialist The North Face to launch its new Ripstop Collection.
The collection combines retro outdoor designs with classic 90’s silhouettes to illustrate how exploration breathes art. The inspiration for the collection is to foster an outsider spirit, referencing the very beginning of outdoor apparel. It honours the innovators and renegade explorers of the world who repurposed post-war surplus materials to create more functional gear. This fuelled creativity for a new, future-facing collection where textures alongside a military-inspired aesthetic take centre stage.
The ripstop aspects of the collection also tap into The North Face’s DNA, with elevated functionality and creative repurposing being at the capsule’s core. This innovative approach to repurposing is then combined with iconic The North Face silhouettes and classic colourways of urban hues and tones.
Highlights from the collection come in the form of The North Face’s new and evolved lifestyle pieces with the ‘92 Neptuse and Denali Pants being taken to new heights with durable zippers, buttons, and fabrications that are designed to withstand the harsh conditions the great outdoors has to offer.
Additionally, new puffer jackets are complemented by customary The North Face branding on the chest, while more technically inclined parka jackets are hit with a slew of pockets and heavy-duty zippers. Accessories round off the capsule, with new beanies and gloves welcomed to keep explorers warm.
The new collection from The North Face is available from 16th January via the official website.
