Even with the cloud of covid restrictions, that glimpse of summer sun during the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend has surely given many discerning gents a yearning for the beaches of foreign sands and lands. Whilst that may seem a pipedream for 2021 with ongoing covid clampdowns, it doesn’t mean you cannot smell of summer – as the latest fragrance from Louis Vuitton, On The Beach, highlights.
Essentially, those clever folks in the fragrant labs of Louis Vuitton know that we all crave to be smelling of the beach and all associations of being on holiday we should add, this year more so than any other. Thus, On The Beach, an eau de parfum created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, hits the nail on the head.
A fresh fragrance that combines yuzu, a rare citrus from Japan, with neroli along with herby tones of thyme, rosemary, pink pepper, cloves and cypress. The result is what we all want: tones and notes of a day spent on a hot sunny beach with table service drinks and nibbles, luxurious toweling and a sense of calm.
