The discerning gent with a flavour for sartorial style will be very familiar with Saville Row – almost a second home for some. Now mix that style expertise with the reassuring comfort and street style of Adidas leisurewear – specifically footwear, and you have a match made in comfy sartorial heaven.
Well, that’s now upon us as Adidas Originals launches a new footwear collaboration with Saville Row tailor, Henry Poole & Company. The latest creative partnership sees the blend of suits and streetwear in two classic adaptations of the Boost-soled Primeknit NMD silhouettes that launch exclusively at Size? as limited edition lines.
Henry Poole has a rich heritage in the bespoke suit design and tailoring game – notably as David Gandy’s favourite tailor no less. Taking inspiration from the tailors’ vast knowledge and sartorial eye in day and evening suiting to produce day and evening shoes that are possibly the smartest dress sneakers DiscerningGent.com has seen to date.
The NMD XR1 Evening shoe – launches on 21st July and is inspired by the famed tuxedo styling of the Saville Row house – predominantly midnight blue with black and white grosgrain silk detailing on the sole and medial cage.
The NMD R2 Day shoe – launches a little later on 4th August and features a nod to the Saville Row house’s penchant of flannel suits. The cut of the chalk-stripe fabric with claret accents (normally found it its ties and suit linings) add to the finer details of the footwear.
The details don’t stop there – this is Saville Row tailoring after all. Each pair comes with its specially-made garment bag along with a custom wooden shoe box to keep your ‘creps’ box fresh.
