PORTER x Paul Smith: New Bag Collection

Leading Japanese luggage brand PORTER, and iconic British label Paul Smith have teamed up for an exclusive capsule collection of new bags and accessories for Spring/Summer 2022.

Paul Smith’s penchant for vibrant colours and uplifting stripes are on full display with PORTER’S shapely and idiosyncratic craftsmanship. Each item within the collection contains the brand’s signature nylon twill, original fabrication and lightweight feel, while standout pieces include a lavender, purple and olive green-striped gym bag and oversized tote bag.

Noting a long-standing history of the two company’s working together, Paul Smith was the first retailer in the UK to carry PORTER’s bags and accessories. Smith’s early career, and the connections he made expanding his global label, had particular focus. The designer – who has a huge presence in Japan – and has visited the country countless times, looked back to one of his earliest trips to Tokyo, where he made long-time connections with the family behind iconic accessories label Porter, which launched in 1962.

Describing his affinity for the collaboration, Smith says it “represents a lifelong love of meticulous Japanese craft and manufacture. As well as a respect and admiration for the PORTER brand.”

The new collection is available now at select Paul Smith and PORTER shops, and online via the Paul Smith website, RRP from £150 to £675.
