Just in time for those wet, rugged commutes into town or to the farmers market at the weekend, Nike announces the launch of the Nike Air Max Goadome Premium – a trail-ready boot with that famously buoyant Air Max sole.
Diversification has always been Nike’s thing. Just look at all the crossover collaborations to witness just how well the brand knows when and how to innovate. Nike has been expanding its trail and hiking innovations for a while now, so to see the Air Max sole adorn the underside of the trendy boot is not all that surprising albeit we’ve had to wait for it until now. Nike already had the UltraFly and Terrascout boot in its locker as two examples of Nike’s capacity for creating stylish trail footwear that doesn’t comprise functionality — but now it fully leans into it.
But the Nike Air Max Goadome Premium exists on another level altogether. First off, the pebbled leather upper is accented with metal hardware and the sole has that dreamy Air Max bounce. Second, it’s got the swagger of a full-blown Timberland boot alongside all the comfy capabilities of a classic Air Max trainer.
First released in 2000 as a part of Nike’s Air Max Goadome (ACG) line, this boot occupies an interesting strata in the footwear zeitgeist. Primarily nestled between functionality and unwavering charm, the Nike Air Max Goadome offers the latest style coupled with the famed comfort we all Air Max for. Whilst the look might seem unorthodox at first, impractical shoes are still going strong in the trend charts yet this line offers the practical requires of a robust boot (weather proof etc) while cranking up the stylistic notches in the fashion world.
