Mr Porter: New Label Mr P

For what now seems like an eternity, luxury lifestyle and fashion portal Mr Porter has been helping discerning gents look good. Surprisingly it’s only been close to seven years now and perhaps more surprising is that Mr Porter did not operate with its own men’s clothing range – until now. Let DiscerningGent.com introduce you to Mr P.

It’s very own label, Mr P, will comprise primarily around a range of 24 wardrobe essentials with a strong emphasis on contemporary appeal. With the surge in the men’s casualwear category throughout 2017, it seems the right move to inject further year-round core staples. Not stopping at just a core collection, the range will be supplemented by five limited-edition capsule collections per year with each collection trend-driven and seasonal. It’s reported there will an additional 29 seasonal style items within the debut capsule.

Standout styles include: 15-gauge cashmere knitwear; modernised Oxford shirts; Japanese selvedge denim; and single- and double-breasted overcoats in virgin wool and cashmere blends.

Toby Bateman, Managing Director, Mr Porter commented: “At Mr Porter, we are – first and foremost – product people. This passion for quality, uniqueness, style and versatility has been the backbone to developing our business for the past seven years. The launch of Mr P. has therefore been quite organic for us; we felt there was a space in our mix of 400-plus brands for something that could present a unique take on wardrobe classics and also present regular capsules of more trend- and seasonal-driven pieces throughout the year. We like to think we have an unparalleled view of the male wardrobe, garnering the combined knowledge of our buyers and editors, and Mr P. is ultimately the result of that: smart details, easy pieces and enduring style.”

The majority of the collection is made in Italy, with select items made in Portugal, and the denim in Japan. Pricing will range from £55 for the core T-shirts, through to £875 for the capsule’s leather aviator jacket. Available now.
