It’s that time of the year again. Having only just returned from a festive holiday full of excess now time to dress slick and look sharp as London Fashion Week Men’s returns for its Autumn/Winter 2019 showcase today.
Now in its 13th season and firmly a fixture on sartorial calendars across the globe, the show has done much for men’s fashion in terms of providing the platform for young British designers to showcase their lines and feast on the accolades and acclaim that will further boost profiles, and ultimately, careers within the industry.
This year, DiscerningGent.com is looking forward to seeing A-Cold-Wall* following all the deserved hype of 2018 as well as Oliver Spencer, Craig Green, Kent and Curwen and LFWM’s stalwarts Xander Zhou and E Tautz. There are however, many wonderful designers to see and there’s always the excited sense of discovery when attending such shows.
Ambassadors – whether in an official capacity or by association – have also done much to shine the light or keep it focused where it should be. We are of cause talking about David Gandy himself but others, such as David Beckham, have done plenty to keep the flag flying high for men’s fashion. Expect to see more of the two sharply dressed David’s over the next three days.
Finally, in a change to previous seasons, the venue for the British Fashion Council’s Showspace this season is now the Old Truman Brewery rather than 180 The Strand, which DiscerningGent.com will miss. However, change is often a good thing.
