Hitting the 65th anniversary milestone is a real celebration. Look at it this way, six and a half decades is a long time in anyway, shape or form. But if you’re gaming royalty, then it means that much more given how competitive the market is and the speed at which technology has developed over those decades. Rightly so, in a moment of celebration, SEGA has collaborated with watchmaker Seiko to unveil the SEGA 65th Anniversary model.

The timepiece is a high-end chronograph designed for the dedicated gaming and watch enthusiast. This partnership merges Seiko’s precision engineering with the visual identity that defined the golden age of arcade and console gaming.
The watch is powered by a Caliber 7T92 quartz movement and features a clean, crisp watch face adorned with Arabic numerals in SEGA’s trademark font. A subtle yet distinct nod to the company’s mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog of course, appears on the 6 o’clock sub-dial, while the SEGA logo sits prominently at the 3 o’clock position.

The stainless steel case measures 39.2mm in diameter and 11.25mm in thickness, offering a chunky yet versatile size for daily wear. Additional technical specs include a Hardlex crystal, 10-bar water resistance, and a battery life of approximately three years.
Being a gaming enthusiast, the lure of the collectable cannot be denied. As such, avid collectors will appreciate the finer details reserved for the case back and packaging. Each watch features the 65th Anniversary logo and a unique limited edition serial number engraved on the back. The timepiece arrives in a custom box with the company’s mission statement, “Empower The Gamers,” embossed on the interior lid. Steel bracelets are available in both a slick “Black” or a classic “Silver” finish. Overall, the design balances professional utility with retro gaming flair and will no doubt be a favourite with collectors. More so given the watch’s limited edition status.
The SEGA 65th Anniversary Seiko Collaboration watch is available for pre-orders now via the SEGA Store with an RRP of around the £340 mark given exchange rates. Delivery is expected to begin from early October onwards.
