Often when putting together an outfit, be it smart or casual, accessories like the humble belt is given the least amount of thought compared against other dressing elements such as shoes, ties and even socks. Luckily for the discerning gent, British brand Brydon Brothers have perfected the look of the casual belt. As the name suggests, Brydon is a group of four English brothers who have made it their mission to doing one thing and doing it well – making belts. Researching the belt market and identifying the lasting styles to ensure longevity, they’ve crafted a range of belts that are a little different to the norm.
Essentially, the belts are made from elasticated webbing using a tightly woven stitch – this negates the need for buckle holes in the belt itself. Instead the buckle is threaded through gaps in the webbing, meaning that the belt can …ahem… expand, or better still contract as you do. To add to the detailing, full grain leather chosen to age over time as been used to finish the buckle and belt tip. Presentation is to be noted too, each belt delivered in vintage restored wooden boxes – great to use whilst the discerning gent is travelling.
